After a 20 year proposed plan, city officials on met with UVM to assess the feasibility of constructing a multi-purpose arena that would seat 5,000. In addition to UVM sports, the multi-purpose arena, named the “Catamount Center,” would also potentially host concerts, family entertainment, as well as conventions and trade shows. The project is still in the fundraising stage and would could cost between $50 million and $60 million.
